Meet Dr. Steven Reynolds

Dr. Steven Reynolds was born in Iowa City, and has lived in Iowa most of his life. After graduating from City High School in Iowa City, he continued his studies at William Penn College in Oskaloosa, The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City, and The University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School in Ann Arbor.

His postgraduate training included a general practice residency at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at The University of Michigan, and a position of Senior Registrar, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Canniesburn Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland. During that time, Dr. Reynolds received the 1988 Merck, Sharp and Dome Resident Research Award for his thesis study of Suprahyoid Musculature.

Dr. Reynolds began practicing at IOMS in 1988. While maintaining his schedule at the office, Dr. Reynolds remains active in the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the Des Moines District Dental Society, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Chalmers Lyons Society of Oral Surgery.

Dr. Reynolds and his wife, Sue, live in West Des Moines.  They have three sons: Michael (an endodontist), Joel (the newest IOMS member), and Christopher (a medical student). In his spare time, Dr. Reynolds enjoys family activities, golfing, basketball, hunting, and reading.
