Pre-Operative Instructions
If you take routine, daily medications, please check with your surgeon prior to your surgical date for any special instructions.
- Unless otherwise directed, you should take all of your normal daily medications as prescribed.
- If you develop an illness prior to your procedure such as a cold, fever, or otherwise, please notify the office prior to your surgery. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
- Please wear loose fitting clothing with sleeves which can be rolled up past the elbows and low-heeled shoes.
- Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish on the day of surgery.
- Contact lenses, all jewelry (including tongue or lip rings), and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery.
- Patients under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- If only local anesthesia is to be used, you may drink and eat as usual.
- If only local anesthesia is to be used, you may drive yourself and do not need to be accompanied by friend or family.
- If sedation is to be used, you may not have anything to eat or drink (including water, coffee and soda) for six (6) hours prior to your appointment.
- If sedation is to be used, one must not drive an automobile, operate any dangerous machinery, or undertake any important matters for 24 hours.
