Dr. Darren R. Jirsa
Dr. Darren Jirsa was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, and has lived in Iowa most of his life. After graduating from Ottumwa Senior High School in 1988, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa in 1991. Dr. Jirsa graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1995. Postgraduate training began with an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which he completed in 1996. Advanced postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was obtained at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Jirsa received his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in June of 2000 and began private practice in July of 2000. While maintaining his schedule at the office, he is also active in the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Des Moines District Dental Society, and the Iowa Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.Dr. Jirsa lives in Clive, Iowa, and enjoys travel, running, golf, tennis, and home audio.
